Olympic Park

British Art as International Art
On Friday I went to a Post-Grad Art History symposium at the UEA on the subject of this post’s title. The talks were from lecturers and PhD students at Warwick, the Courtauld Institute, York and the University of Vienna.

A Little Culture
On Wednesday I went to London to visit the V&A and Tate Britain. I saw the Modern British Design Exhibition at the V&A which was, over all, well worth a visit. There were few surprises in terms of the selected works but I was really pleased to see how much space was devoted to Denys Lasdon, the architect of the original UEA buildings and the National Theatre, who I‘ve been researching...
Band of the Week (because every blog needs one):...
I realise this is two bands for the price of one but I’ve just come across their 2010 joint E.P. on spotify and it is pretty darn good, especially Stagecoach’s cover of Salt, Pepper and Spinderella. The illustrations on the CD cover are worth having a glance at too; good work all round.
Played some music for the first time in ages today...
